Okay, I will! The GPL does *not* say "you must give away your product
for free". It says "*if* you distribute your product, then you must
offer source, and you must allow the person receiving the source to do
anything he wants with it".
Volkswagen could place the Bug under the GPL, and continue selling Bugs
for $15,000 apiece - but they would be required to give away a full set
of schematics with each one. Furthermore, if some altruistic soul used
those schematics to build their own Bugs and give them away for free,
then the GPL would prevent Volkswagen from stopping them.
