Well there wasn't actually any checking 100+ websites anyway, you just ran
up2date (or the autoupdate program if you knew of a redhat mirror you could
use closer to home. The difference with fedora is that it now supports yum
and apt as part of up2date so that the up2date program can get data from evn
more places.
