I downloaded and installed it earlier today. Seemed to be pretty much
what RH9 was. I had a few difficulties.

The isntaller wanted me to specify the monitor and even though I looked
and it didn't have it, it told me to choose something close. I chose a
model close but had problems later when it rebooted to start linux.

Seems it didn't like the refresh rate and decided to mess with the signals
giving me a garbeled display--the same you see in XP or other versions of
windows when the refresh rate/resolution/color depth are wrong.

I know that monitor is weak in the area of refresh rates so I swapped it
for another monitor. Unfortunately I had to reboot because it wouldn't
shut down and I couldn't see the screen using the mouse or to choose the
hotkey choices.

When it rebooted the computer boot process told me the system hadn't been
shutdown properly and I was given the choice to run the file system check.
I chose to do that. After that the system went to the point where it
states "enabling swap space" and stated "OK". Whatever happens after that
caused the system to lock.

This time I did an alt+ctrl+del and it shut down the computer. I
rebooted. This time it went into linux without a problem. On another
occassion I had to shut down improperly and told it to scan the file
system. Same problem after scanning it. Oh well. Every time I told it
to scan and then rebooted it would go into linux x windows.

When I finally got into Fedora it seemd ok. I noticed it had gnome set as
the default desktop so I switched to kde. After rebooting and coming back
into kde I noticed that the icon on the desktop depicting the home folder
was missing. Nothing I could find would put it back. As I was looking I
managed to turn on the menubar (like OS X). After doing this I couldn't
get it turned back off until I rebooted.

I attempted to switch video cards at one point and it also just sat there
instead of telling me that it found a new piece of hardware like RH9 does.

Since I switched monitors for a better one on that box I decided go in and
change the properties of it, you know to increase the refresh rate,
resolution, and color depth. I found the manufacturer listed and chose a
model that was close to the one I had--no exact match. After that I
rebooted, came back and and worked on the resolution/refresh rate. Had
some difficulties doing that.

I choose the 1280x1024 and restarted. This didn't actually adjust the
resolution. What it did was stredtch the window in a way that I couldn't
access the other areas of the screen. This was not a virtual desktop
where it scrolls. The icons were mis-sized and the panels were all
stretched.

I previously had noted another program that seemingly allowed you to
change the refresh rate/resolution on the fly without, apparently, having
to restart x windows. I played a bit with the refresh rate but the x
windows graphics became uglier, less fine if you will, so I switched back
to what I had when I had installed.

Back to the resolution changes. I had first chosen 1280x1024 and chose to
step down from there to see if I could get a resolution change that would
work for me. I didn't until I hit the resolution I had chosen during the
install. Oh well, so much for that.

Those were my initial issues with it Other then that it looked like RH9.
I do know that the longer this is in development the more it will change
and the more "dirty" it will get with so many more cooks in the kitchen
messing with the utensils.
