No, the logins look different. I guess I somehow changed one of them.
The system that has shutdown options has a log in screen that starts
with:

"Welcome to linux at localhost", and has boxes for login and password.
 Not like the other system that has a prompt for login and then
prompts you for the password.

How do I tell which one is which? (KDM or GDM)

And how would I change from GDM to KDM?
