i just tried to update to fedora from redhat 8.0. it installed ok, during
the install it finds the correct settings for the mouse and x window, the
grub loader appears to have the correct settings for the x window, but when
linux loads it claims the mouse and keyboard are USB, and when x windows
starts the monitor is blank and says out of range. i have a microtek 710s
monitor and using a geforce 4 mx 420 video card (nvidia nv17). the
horizontal sync is 30-110 and vertical refresh 50-180.
i've really taken a great leap backwards here. all i have is linux in text
mode. please, please help. i've seen other people have had this problem,
but no one has posted a clear solution. desperate for guidance.
