Woke up to a kde problem this morning.
Upon login I get the error:
"Could not start kdeinit. Check your installation."
First question, how would I "check my installation?"
Second question, how would I go about re-installing kde?
What I've done:
1. Discovered that all users have the same error on login, except root.
2. Tried removing a user (including home directory) and re-adding user.
Same problem re-occurs.
3. Repeated item two and also deleted /tmp directory entries for that
user. Same problem re-occurs.
Additional info:
I basically have two users, "leutzdb" and "seti". At night, from the user
"leutzdb" I start a terminal session and "su - seti" then start xseti. I
have observed various problems with my system the following morning,
but a clean boot always fixed whatever problem I was experiencing. An
example problem would be the inability to get a "root file manager"
or some other program to start.
Not this morning. Could I just be experience problems due to setiathome,
or is it more likely a "cracker" is accessing my system thru setiathome
and wreaking malicious havoc.
