I am pretty sure we share much the same frustration level over the
direction that comptuers have gone in the past ten years, and how so
little progress has been made. I have been in the 'industry" for a few
dozen years, and am still waiting for a leap in techonology that will be
worthy of what we are capable of doing. M$ is not in business to develop
and push technology. We could probably agree that they are the biggest
detriment to progress in the whole history of the high tech industry.

Linux just needs to expand into the realm of the rest of the windows
users, and the present desktop and usage does not support that. I assume
one day it will move in that direction, so I don't wish to be construed as
simply ragging against Linux. I am just waiting for the desktop developers
to want to create a product that will attract even more users. I expect by
then, that I will be well versed enough that I won't need that layer of
'simplicity' but I know others will take advantage if its there for them.
