Well, In my experience a painless way to install this sort of thing is
via Ximian Red Carpet. Install Red-Carpet, subscribe to the RH 9 channel
and select what you want to install. If other components are wanted, Red
Carpet "pulls them in" from its repository...generally this goes through
with no trouble. But DON'T install the red-carpet desktop. In my
experience this does give trouble with packages. Just Red-Carpet. You
need not bother with RPM then-it's just like a windoze installer, but
with more information and better error checking & reversibility.
