This is *utter* cobblers. UHCI, OHCI, and EHCI have had plenty of
support for as long as I've looked at Linux-USB (and that's over 2 years
now - no idea of the history before that).

Anyway, the DX4900 appears to be a PTP camera. Have a look for MMPTP - I
used with a couple of Sony PTP cameras about 18 months ago. It needed a
bit of tweaking at the time, but I few those results back to the author.
I wouldn't expect any hassle running this camera from Linux.
