I just installed Red Hat 9 as the 2nd OS on a dual boot system (seperate
hard drives for each OS). The installation JUST completed and told me to
remove the disks and reboot. I did so and selected to boot to Red Hat. I
remind you this is the first time I am actually booting to RH... after all
the loading procedures are complete where the login screen would Normally
appear my screen shuts off and goes into Power Save mode. When I installed
RH i set the screen resolution to 1024x768... which I knew my monitor could
handle because under Win XP i am set at 1280x1024. Now I am stuck I can't
change anything. Can someone help. I am sort of new at this but i didn't
change anything that should have made this thing freak out.
ALSO, i have had a problem before where I changed a driver and after I
logged in the computer would freeze. To solve this I did ctrl-alt-F1 at the
login... logged in under root... switched to init 3 and ran
redhat-config-xfree86. However, this time i cant even see anything to do
the ctrl-alt-F1.
Any help would be great!!!
Thanks Brian
