I cant get in!

    Hello, (as you will soon discover I dont know much about Linux).
    I am using redhat linux 9.0
    I was playing around with the authentication settings (LDAP). When I
    rebooted my machine I cant log in anymore.... its trying to
    authenticate to sommit. Basically how to I stop this, I just want to
    log into the machine as root.... but I cant change the settings
    because I cant log in.

    Help

    P.s I dont want to have to reinstall my machine.
