for pacakges ... look for some .rpm on the net.
to install in console : rpm -ivh pack-age.rpm
your resolution problem is probablt cause your are running on the generic
VESA Video Driver and can't handle you resolution, or try to change to 1024
and when they say to reboot.. dont reboot just logoff go into terminal then
type startx
