error while booting into 'linux rescue ' with boot CD...

hi..
i wanted to fsck my filesystem..so when i booted my FC1's 1st CD & did
'linux rescue'.. it ask for the language to used during installation &
then it shows the following messeges :

ImportError: /lib/libssl.so.4: undefined symbol: BIO_printf
install exited abnormally
& after the above messeges it ask to reboot system.
pls tell me what's the problem with the linux rescue & how to get rid
of it.
