Yes. It's probably a software bug that can only be fixed by
upgrading the kernel and modutils RPM's but I just want to rule out
some flaky hardware by monitoring "/proc/interrupts" while the load
is high.
Stephan suspects a VM problem, and this is quite possible. Checking
the vmstat and "/proc/slabinfo" as he suggested might give a clue if
this is true.
Even if it is a VM problem, the solution is still going to be to
upgrade the kernel. That's why I want to monitor "/proc/interrupts"
while the load is active.
BTW, you can upgrade the kernel (and also modutils!) while you
continue to keep the same RH8 userland.
