There's a _chance_ the mobo might require a different type
of RAM after resetting the CMOS than after configuring to
real-life defaults. I had an Iwill P4ES mobo (Intel 845E
chipset, IIRC) that supports ECC DRAM. However, after doing
a jumper CMOS reset, it requires non-ECC RAM or it won't
power up. After using the BIOS to set to "optimized
defaults", it works fine with either ECC or non-ECC.
Strange.
Good luck.
