[This followup was posted to linux.redhat]
My system is Linux Redhat 9 (2.4.20-8) running the Apache web server.
I have a "typical" setup as far as directory structure is concerned :
/var/www/html -- HTML files
/var/www/cgi-bin -- CGI scripts
/etc/httpd/logs -- symbolic link to logfiles directory
I am porting a hockey league website I wrote a while ago to
Linux/Apache. I have placed the CGI scripts for the league in the
directory /var/www/cgi-bin/hockey
My main CGI script is enter_system.pl
When "enter_system.pl" runs the HTML is displayed properly, however the
image displayed at the top of the page is not displayed. I have used
Netscape to "visit" the image and it can be displayed properly.
Upon examination of the Apache error log file I found the following
message at the end of the logfile :
Premature end of script headers: faceoff.gif, referer:
http://localhost/cgi-bin/hockey/enter_system.pl
I used Perl to verify the syntax of the enter_system.pl is corrct.
So what is the error message trying to tell me ?? Is there a problem
with the GIF file or the script ? This is the same script which ran
succcessfully on another web server.
Any help/hints/tips would be appreciated.
