The latest driver on Nvidia's site (6106) works great here.
It worked great in 2.6.5, but when I upgraded to 2.6.6, though the
splash screen still showed up, the drivers themselves were not working
correctly (200fps or so in GLXgears). A simple re-install of the drivers
corrected the issue.
I assure you, you don't want to go to an ATI card to get better driver
support under Linux.
