If the cards are identical, then the only way to tell them apart is
by their Ethernet addresses:
- the addresses may be written on the cards
- the driver may print enough information that you can match Ethernet
addresses (which appear in the output of ifconfig) with PCI slots or
IRQ's. Either of these may appear on the motherboard. Output from
lspci may help.
If the NIC's have static addresses, I have often resorted to bringing
one up, running ping, and looking for the flashing transmit light.
With only two NIC's, you have a 50% chance of being right the first
time...
