first off, use ssh, not telnet.
second, when you install the ftp daemon, it should be configured with
an anonymous account by default (depending on which ftpd you're running)
third, local user accounts will be their means of ftp access, you can also
set their uid and group setting so that they only have remote access via
ftp
next line of business all depends on how familiar you are with the apache
configuration file, you will need to edit this by hand.
first off, you only need one ip address even to host multiple sites, just
look towards the bottom of the httpd.conf file (usually located at
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf), you will find "NameVirtualHost" you want to
uncomment this line by removing the "#" from the beginning of the line,
second, add the ip address right after it, then look a little further down
and read the VirtualHost example text and follow its instructions. there
is another way to do it when you're using multiple ip address' but this is
the way that has never failed me. maybe someone else can give more insight
to that method.

as for question number for, no, use rdesktop... if i am wrong, someone
please correct me and show me the way of the light.

well friend, i hope this has been useful information to you, but i must be
on my way.
good luck
