screen capture with save as type selected

I have a Perl/Tk application that i would like to take a screen capture of.
I would like to have the "Files of Type:" drop down box visable on the
screen capture. However, to keep this list open i must keep my fingure on
the mouse button, so "alt+print screen" doesn't capture the image with all
the diferent file types showing.

Does anyone know how i might achieve a screen capture with this list open?
