Hi
I am at university and now I am trying to connecting my RH Liux to Internet
from my dormitary.
The dormitary gateway works like this:
Anyone who wants to connect to Internet sends a HTTP request from his
browser and the gateway respondes with a
web page getting account and passwd from him. When this is correct, the
gateway will register his IP and
subsequent requests will be accpected.
However, it seems like the process the gateway uses is very IE-based, and
when I send my first HTTP request
from mozilla the gateway prompts that I should use IE !!!
I checked the process on Windows and I think there's only one thing which is
WINDOWS-based : when the account & passwd
is accpected, there's a .exe monitor running which prompts on-line time and
provide a function to disconnect.
There's also a certificate setuping process during the registering but I
think this is for running the monitor inside IE.
So how can I solve this?
The gateway webpage is here:(maybe you can't visit it)
