I am running RH8 connected to broadband ISP connection and am using this box
as an iptable firewall box which also is used as a SQUID proxy server for an
internal LAN. My ISP assings an IP by DHCP (client) and I have static IP
addresses for an internal LAN machines.
What is the best practice for reinitializing an ip filtering script for the
DHCP client firewall box? I get a new IP address assigned to me as
frequently as every day to as infrequently as once a month. I have a nice
iptable script that I can get to work for a static IP address, but I am not
sure rebooting once a day is the best way to address the potential of
getting a new DHCP IP address once a day.
