Slow fedora 1

Hello, first of all, im a n00b. Heres my problem...
Fedora running a bit slow. It was pretty quick at origional install,
about 5 months ago, and has since slowed down...meaning, the progs
and things come up pretty slow.....
here are the details:

Dell Inspiron 1100
WINXP/Fedora Core 1 dual boot
2.4Ghz HD ( 20gig)
384MB ram
Swap is about 715mb free

WINXP had about 5 gig partition, and Fedora the rest.
