Hi there,
I recently purchased a used Compaq 6400R with 4 CPUs (all working and
reporting
fine at boot time), and I installed the Red Hat Linux ES release 3.
The installation went very smoothly, and it loads the SMP kernel
(uname -r
returns 2.4.21-4.ELsmp) , however, it reports only one CPU - the
CPU#0. The
/var/log/messages reports:
Oct 18 18:59:09 rhino kernel: SMP motherboard not detected.
Oct 18 18:59:09 rhino kernel: enabled ExtINT on CPU#0
Is there anything that I can do to enable the other CPUs? I checked
on the
RedHat site, and the 6400R is definitely on their supported list...
What
gives??
The complete DMESG output follows below..
Thanks for help, Alex.
