installer exited abnormally

I'm trying to setup FC 2.92 on my notebook, but when Anaconda starts I get
this error: "installer exited abnormally..." it unloads and says something
like "remove install media and reboot your computer"
Is there a known issue? or a fix?
the computer is as follows:
ECS Desknote iBuddie
512MB RAM
Athlon 1800+
Synaptics touch pad
40GB hard drive w/Win2k on 20GB
I also tried RH 9 with the same result.
