FC3 Fedora Core 3 - Problems with graphic card

    I recently installed FC3 in text mode (graphic mode wouldn't work under any
    circumstances - even using the switches recommended by Fedora when starting
    the installation). I can see the GRUB logo then the boot sequence,but when
    trying to enter GUI I get just a black screen and lots of strain on the
    system (I can hear the fans changing there rpm). I managed to get FC2 GUI
    going before with a bit of the strain, but FC3 is absolutely dead.

    My system is:
    3D Connect Radeon 9600 128 Mb
    Asus P4C800 Deluxe
    2Gb Memory
    Intel 2.60 HC 800 Mhz frontbus
