Faulty kernel 2.6.9-1.741_FC3 "upgrade"

I "upgraded" to the above kernel version (45 min on my dial-up modem),
and found that my USB "mass" storage devices are no longer recognised.
Any advise how to get rid of the faulty kernel version, at least from
the Grub bootup screen, where the fully working 2.6.9-1.667 is still
present?
