run grep then seg fault...

Hi all...
            my uname -a is
            Linux Xeon 2.4.18-14smp #1 SMP Wed Sep 4 12:34:47 EDT 2002 i686 i686
i386 GNU/Linux

when I run grep, I got a segmentation fault.
Then I trying to compile the grep source code. It's also segementation
fault too.

could anyone help me?
