I was disenchanted by the quality of disks I was getting and wanted a
new distro to try out. I'd never tried Fedora before, so I went to a
friend's place, (I have only a slow dialup connection), and
downloaded Fedora, burned the discs, and drove home.
It installed quite well and appeared very solid, although there's
some tweaking to do when I get the time
Then I see people talking about Fedora CORE 3. I was just a little
confused, because I thought I had seen Fedora CORE 1. I looked
around a little more and sure enough I downloaded the old version.
It still works, mind you, and well, but I always yearn for the latest
and greatest. Dumb. When I saw the 1, 2, 3, I had assumed that was
the three discs of the download, and went to the number one first.
Then when I got further down in the tree and discovered three discs
there, I was already beyond thinking about what I had seen before.
Anyway, I think 1 is pretty good, I imagine 3 must be magnifacent.
I'll get back there sometime and get the new one.
