The following is a wvdial config file for, I believe, a Redhat 9
install and ATT. It worked great for me.
I used a USRobotics fax/modem. No longer use it as I am now on Cable.
[Dialer Modem0]
Baud= 115200
Dial command= ATDT
Init1= ATZ
Init2= ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 S11=55 +FCLASS=0
Init4= ATM1L1
Set Volume= 1
Modem= /dev/ttyS4
[Dialer ATTglobal.net ]
Ask Password= 0
Auto DNS= 0
Auto Reconnect= 0
DNS1= 165.87.13.129
DNS1= 165.87.201.244
Demand= yes
Idle Seconds= 360
Stupid Mode= 1
Inherits= Dialer modem0
Password= xxxxxxxxxx
Phone= xxxxxxxxxxx
Provider= xxxxxxxxx
Username= internet.usinet.xxxxxx
[Dialer Defaults]
Stupid Mode= 1
Ask Password= 0
Auto DNS= 0
Auto Recconnect= 0
DNS1= 165.87.13.129
DNS2= 165.87.201.244
Demand= yes
Idle seconds= 360
Password= xxxxxxxxx
Phone= xxxxxxxxx
Provider= xxxxxxxxxx
Username= internet.usinet.xxxxxxxx
Baud= 115200
Dial Command= ATDT
Init1= ATZ
Init2= ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 S11=55 +FCLASS=0
Init4= ATM1L1
Modem= /dev/ttyS4
This conf file is a few years old......It worked at the time. Don't
know if all the duplication in the conf. file is necessary or not???
HTH YMMV
Regards,
Buck
