    Standard admonition #1
    ----------------------

Experimenting with your graphics settings can seriously damage your
video hardware: it may even smoke and catch fire; I am not kidding.
If you are not a risk taker, do nothing. Accept the current setup
until a future update corrects the lack.

If you are still here, this is how to proceed:

    1) As root, bring up the "system-config-display" tool and click on
the "advanced" tab. I don't remember exactly what it is called.
You may need to override the auto-detected video settings. Your
hardware is very new and may not have been detected properly.

If you don't find an exact match, do _NOT_ select something
"similar but I think it's close enough". Unless you _KNOW_ that
the hardware is exactly (but perhaps under a different brand
name), you are risking your hardware if you choose wrongly.

If manually selecting your hardware setup does not help, and you feel
really, really lucky, you may want to try editing the X11
configuration file yourself. What you need to do is figure out a
"mode line" that tells X11 how to program the video hardware to match
    your monitor.

The calculation to do this is somewhat arcane, but the web site
    http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl has worked for some
    people.

Notice that this web page is for the older XFree86 implementation,
not the X.ORG implementation currently in use, but that should not be
    a problem.

Visit the HOWTO given at the bottom of that page for more
    information.
