Can not install my modem on redhat 9

hi
I have redhat 9 system and Motorola's modem. when i search for modem
on mys system with network device config it can not find it.
i have already istall kernel devlopement rpm,
also have enable pci communication port for kernel config
and also have done #dep command
still my modem is not being found.
