I checked with the Open Office FAQ and web site but the problem of OO
hijacking file associations seems to be a Windows problem.

However, all of a sudden, when I click on any ico on the desktop to open it,
OO starts and then errors saying it can't open "unknown file type ///File"

I have some folders on the desktop with various apps in them (links
actually), when I click on the folder, OO starts.

    Looney!

Anyone know the answer to how to reset file associations. Next step is to
delete Open Office completely and see if that works.

    Cheers,

    Dave
