NEWBIE:sound card(yamaha OPL3 SAx WMD) not detected in RED HAT 9

    hi there
    my sound card is not working (instead it is working in win2k)
    I THINK that it is not detected in linux(red hat 9).
    when i start GUI is says : couldn't open mixer device /dev/sound/mixer
    and when i shut down, it failed to stop one service and displays error:
    can't locate module sound-service-0-0aumix: error opening mixer.
    being a new member i dont know how to configure or load modules.

    i tried the follwing command:
