BTW, I have to set up an Athlon-64 box next week (will probably become
FC4-test3). What are the compilation settings for the fedora x86_64
binary packages?

As mentioned in another forum there "might" be a notable performance
increase if "certain" packages are compiled specifically for an
architecture? Which one might that be? Kernel, glibc, X11, KDE, Qt, ...?
