Just installed Redhat Enterprise AS and been tinkering with the refresh rate
as there is no setting in the display settings.
Right from the off i am into the conf files xorg.conf is the name.
I am a through and through windows user have been for 7 years, its a big
jump for me and i thought i would be able to browse the net abit before i
    got my hands dirty.

But the dam screen refresh rate was hurting my eyes so i had to put this
right before i can use the thing.

I have edited the xorg.conf where it states "1024x768" to "1024x768@85" as
85hz is the highest my monitor will support at this resolution.
when i check it after a restart its back the way it was before editing, and
the edited file is now a backup.

What is going wrong here, is it just me am i thick.
    Any help would be great.

    Dave
