RH? Looks more like a grave yard

This group hardly gets any posts now does it.

I wonder where all the desktop users of RH have gone, Suse, Mandiva .... ?

Maybe RH cheesed too many off, you pay $xxx a year to get a system thats
always a fair bit out of date. You go on the RH network because you need
the latest thing, but you soon learn it will never be there. You look at
the board because you fancy an argument or a jolly good fight or more
rarely want to help someone out of trouble, only to find it is always
dead, except for a poor bloke who seems to have been around for years
wanting to know if RH will go on a Spectrum or something.

RH as it comes updated through RH network make up two of my servers, they
are work horses, don't do much, just work. But are the oldest of my
machines in terms of updates.

The FC3 server is far more up to date, just as stable. I could sit you
here in front of them and you couldn't tell the difference, until you
started something like Open Office, they was a bug in the spell checker of
the one that comes with ES. But the RH network doesn't reflect that
change, if you grab it anew you still get the buggy version. or looked at
MySQL, which is a long long way behind, and not the easiest one in the
world to upgrade unless you upgrade each step in turn to the newer
versions.

I know ES/AS etc are meant to be servers rather than clients and as
servers they are rock solid, but you like me must sometimes wonder what
you are actually paying for when you pay RH's annual subscription. As far
as I can see, bugger all.
