Yep, though the existance of the Fedora Legacy group is something of an
oxymoron in my mind, since the raison d'etre of Fedora is a rapid
development and deployment cycle. This is needed, in my mind, to
increase the acceptance of Linux on mainstream desktops, as opposed to
servers. That position seems to be supported by the popularity of
Ubuntu, which I consider to be the Debian based equivalent of FC.
Neither distro is targeted to server use.

It seems to me that anyone adopting Fedora is knowingly adopting a
distro that will be updated and outdated 2 to 3 times per year. It is
in effect RH's rolling beta program for RHEL.

Importantly, it has been generally a solid and very viable desktop,
with leading edge application versions and improved HW support, which
are important to desktop users. Compared to RH 8.0 and and RH 9, it is
a substantial leap forward.

The post release official support timelines are published on the Fedora
web site, so there is no argument to be made that someone didn't know
how short these are.

It seems to me that the Fedora Legacy resources (both RH and community)
being allocated to continued support of RH9 and the EOL'd FC versions
could be put to better use in supporting current FC versions, but
that's one guy's opinion.

I guess the marketplace will determine what the supply/demand equation
is and whether or not FL makes sense ultimately.
