kernel module help me

hi,
   I write my own kernel module(simple hello world module) and i
complied that so my module listed in /proc/modules or same by command
lsmod.
what changes i have to do so that my module appeas during boot up.
I tried by placing "insmod mymodule name" in "/etc/rc.d/rc.local" but
no effect.
I have Redhat linux 7.1 with kernel version 2.4.7-10

Help me please
