Not familiar with this. Can you provide details?

Sometimes manufacturers make cost-cutting decisions, such as
providing their own custom I/O devices and forget to tell the rest of
us in the open source world. They think that as long as they have a
Windoze driver they have it all covered.

Bad sign. Is your video card made by nVidia? They are problematic
because nVidia do not provide complete device drivers for Linux, so
the result is our best effort.

If you can, borrow a video card from a friend (or buy a cheap-o used
card from a computer shop). Try the graphic install again.

Your NIC cards may not be supported, so again, borrow a different NIC
from a friend and try it out.

All the other behavior you describe seems related to the video card
incompatibility. Let's get the first two items fixed and then
revisit the reset.
