1. What size monitor are you using?
2. What resolution are you using?
3. What graphics card do you have?
sometimes linux distro show a resolution above what your monitor can
handle.
If the monitor is definitly not the the problem and it is the graphics
drivers, then:
for you to understand in this situation.
by typing the letters "ls" (without the "") it is like typing "dir" in
windows.
The rest is explained very well above by ken.
What ken wants is for you to do the "tar -xvf file_name.tar" part and
then "cd" (change directory) into the newly made directory.
When you are in it type "ls -alF > output"
then look in your home directory. You will see a new file there called
"output"
Open this file and copy and paste the contents here.
ken should be able to help you from there.
There is usually a README file. This should explain what to do.
The execute script is usually shown up in green font and has a ".sh" as
its extension
try "./green-font-file.sh"
If it askes you to change to root first then
type "su"
enter the password promted for
then type "./green-font-file.sh"
"./" tells the computer to try and execute what follows in the line.
Hope this helps
