core2 didn't "hide" the menu, but from core3 it does.
I've left mine on hidden, you have to watch the boot process, if you want another operating system, you've got 3 secs to hiy any key, to get the boot menu.
One of the lines says "default" it'll probably be on 3, but if you change that to 10, it'll give you 10 seconds to choose.

t hanks for the reply sure enough, i found the boot folder and the grub.conf did have the dual boot boot syntax but had the 'hiddenmenu' parm, so i commented it out and now i get a menu with fedora and win2k but it goes by too fast to select win2k and goes right into the fedora boot, so i'm making progress, i think trying to determine if there is another parm somewhere that controls how long menu is displayed before the default is invoked
