Sound card issues

I have a Soundblaster Live 24bit sound card.

I downloaded the ALSA driver and tryed to install it.

I am running Fedora 2 (Win4Lin.) Even to compile the driver, I had to boot back to standard FC2 compile the program and try to install it.
All I got was a little bit of static, no real sound.

Any advice? If this card won't work, is there a relatively inexpensive
card that I can get that will work?
