I'll try to be more specific with the sequence of commands issued:
1. insert a blank DVD-RW
2. run backup script (not sure what dvdrecord blank=fast does in this
case but assume it is harmless)
3 eject dvd with backup contents.
4 test contents on another box. backup is fine.
5 re-insert dvd into burner, mount and check that contents is visible.
6. re-run script.
Here is where the I encounter the problem.
Once the backup is completed, the dvd cannot be ejected nor can it be
mounted/unmounted.
Nor are attempts to unload the cdrom module successful.
I suppose this can be classified testing of the script rather than
actual use.
I'm yet to google about the burner although the problem started when I
added the blanking command since we're trying to use DVD-RW rather than
DVD-R disks.
Thanks for your reply and I hope this sheds more light for other people
to allow me to solve this.
Cheers,
Bonny
