Perhaps I should have explained this better?
I have 64 bit Fedora Core 5 running on my AMD 64.
In order for the realplayer and flash plugin in firefox
to work, i have to use the 32 bit versions, i.e. the i386 or
i686 ones.
Yum, of course, tries to update my system with the x86_64 RPMs.
I can stop it doing this by putting an 'exclude' line in
/etc/yum.conf.
The question is how to get yum to update the 32 bit binaries
of firefox, libgnome etc?

Anybody know how to get yum to update the following packages
automatically, without accidentally picking up the 64 bit
versions?
firefox
libgnome
libgnomeui
I know how to exclude them in yum.conf, but
not how to do the converse.
Just download the three files to a common location all by themselves and as
root from the console or xterm session;
rpm -Uvh *.rpm
It is a good idea to remove the 64-bit version of firefox before installing
the 32-bit version.
Try downloading by typing something like;
wget
ftp://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/5/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/firefox-1.5.0-9.i386.rpm
Put a space after wget and before the rest
