I upgrade my RH9 to Fedora Core 3 some time last year...
there were no problems at all...

Fedora Core is presently up to version 5...so I cannot say for sure
that an upgrade to FC5 will work or not...
but if you have all the data and settings you need on your home partition...
you should be OK if you have to install new...
just as long as you do not format /home of course
.
