FC5 doesn't see any of may modem, how to fix?

Hi to everyone in this NG.
I'm a newbye with Linux. Last week I installed FedoraCore5 and I'm very glad about it. But I've the following problem and I'm here to ask for some usefull suggestions about the way to solve it.
FC5 doesn't see an internal modem card that is SoftK56/ Rockwell-Conexant Voice/Data/Fax/speakerphone : I do not want such a modem running, At this moment I would be glad to see FC5 check that the modem ...exist.
The same happens with an external modem www.chronos.com.tw Smartscm/56.
I know the difficulty to have such winmodem running the right way : I only desire FC5 tell me that the modem exist.
