usb serial ports?

Hey, all;

I have a bright and shiny new HP laptop running FC5 w/no standard serial
ports. I generally use the system as my primary system in my consulting
business. Part of that is ocassionally configuring out-of-the-box
HP systems which require serial consoles. I have the null modem and
usb->db9 converter along with the appropriate terminal/port settings.
All's I need is the serial port to use.

Is there a way to identify the serial device a particular usb port is
using? I can plug a thumbdrive into anyone of them and get the contents
so I know the usb is working.

Examining /dev/ttyS*, I see:

$ ll /dev/ttyS*
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 4, 64 Apr 26 07:07 /dev/ttyS0
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 4, 65 Apr 26 07:07 /dev/ttyS1
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 4, 66 Apr 26 07:07 /dev/ttyS2
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 4, 67 Apr 26 07:07 /dev/ttyS3

google posts suggest looking for /dev/usb; however, I don't have one of
those. I'm going to need this sometime shortly to configure several
new systems so any hints/tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
