In /etc/yum.conf
you can write this ( it's what I have ) under the part [main]:
exclude=kernel* synaptic* ffmpeg* transcode* subtitle* kde-i18n-*
which means exclude all kernels all synaptics all kde-i18n translation
files ;-) I tried to install KDE and had from arabian till Norwegian
downloading in my pc(!) yet I speak only 2 languages...xexe
Use something like yumex which lists all installed packages to find those unused languages and uninstall them. Then remove the kde-i18n-* from the exclude list. They will not be reinstalled.
Some of those language files are huge. You will see a noticable extra disk space after uninstalling them. And do not forget to delete the language packs for apps like openoffice and others.
