Hello,

Have RH AS 4.6 and consequently httpd 2.0.52-22.ent and I want to make
a solaris flash file available via http ie http:IP/name.flar.
In XP i install apache 2.2 outa de box and if i enter
http:IP/name.flar (with name.flar in doc root) in IE I get the first
few lines of the file in the brow2ser window. So far so good.
But if I put the flar file in /var/www/html
I get "Forbidden you do not have permission to access /name.flar"

oops.
I was wondering why not?

Does everybody have read access on the file ? or the owner apache?

chmod 600 name.flar
chown apache name.flar (apache has to run as the user apache) or
chmod o+r name.flar

Jacob

TIA

Ton
